The metro is new, clean, and crowded, and there are ambitious plans for extensions in the near future. Not a part of the metro network but rather a thing for tourists is The Bund Sightseeing Tunnel that runs to Pudong under the river — tickets are pricey but the decoration is spectacular. The hyper-modern Maglev (magnetic levitation train) provides a short ride to the airport at 430 km/h.
